COHORTS

A 12-week training & coaching cohort to equip & encourage preachers to preach the word.

The cohorts focus on the development of the preacher’s heart, a clear preparation process, and the effective delivery of sermons. The cohort begins with a two-day, in-person launch retreat. Each week after our launch retreat, we gather for a 90-minute, online training call.

WHY COHORTS?

The cohort model is one of the most effective way for us to grow as preachers. Through the 12 weeks we spend together we will be sharpened by one another’s ideas in the context of discussion based training. We will also have the opportunity to learn from sermons of some of the most faithful preachers in the world as well as each other’s sermons. Great content on preaching abounds, and we will make use of this, but we are after great content worked out in the context of community. That is what makes learning within a cohort the ideal way to grow as a preacher.

THE SCHEDULE

WEEK 5: The Preparation: The Preparation Funnel and Annual Calendar Planning

WEEK 6: The Preparation: Think Yourself Empty/Read Yourself Full

WEEK 7: The Preparation: Write Yourself Clear: Big Idea, Outlines, and Introductions

WEEK 8: The Preparation: Write Yourself Clear: Sermon Points

WEEK 9: The Preparation: Write Yourself Clear: Transitions and Conclusions

WEEK 10: The Preparation: Pray Yourself Hot

WEEK 11: The Preaching: Posture and Personality in the Pulpit

WEEK 12: The Preaching: Practical Wisdom for Sermon Delivery

THE INVESTMENT

Travel to the launch retreat is the responsibility of the participant. Food and lodging on site at the launch retreat is covered by The Preaching Co.
